Broken heart

Well, glad everyone is OK, that looks like it isn't too awful bad.

What shifter are you using. Right after I installed my Hurst Promatic 2 I took it for a spin. 1st A OK, 2nd A OK, and then I hit third at 50 to 60 or so, rear end locked up and set me sideways in the road.

I gained my composure, pulled to the side and the trans seemed fine, and come to find out it was. It turned out the shifter cable was adjusted off just enough to send it to reverse.

I made some adjustments and it was all good after that.

We’re really not sure what happened. The car has a pro ratchet it it, so it’s almost impossible to miss a gear.

My valiant also has a pro ratchet, but with a reverse manual valve body.

Did I push the stick forward or pull it back for third? I don’t think I pulled it back, but I can’t remember. I’ve replayed it 1000 times in my head, but the whole things a blur.

Right now I’m just concentrating on getting the core support straight and the body panels on.

We have to pull the trans apart to check the rear drum seals so we will check it all out while we’re in there.
