when going down the freeway and apply throttle get no response and have to reapply throttle and still don't get much I have a 360 with a 4 barrel 600 Holley i think it runs a standard fuel pump.?

Fuel pump.
Damaged/collapsed fuel line.pickup screen clogged.
Dirty fuel filter.

This doesn't seem to be fuel related since you have tried two carbs. Need a better desription of the problem. What does "no response" mean? Does it hesitate? Are you running a vacuum advance? Where is the timing? Motor? At all speeds? Is there a "miss"? Help!

During summertime, My car gets hot and vapor locks when driving on the highway. Maybe you need a better fuel pump

I'm not saying for sure that the filter is plugging up, but this is exactly how the engine does when the filter is.
Next it would start doing it at lower and lower speeds until the engine barely runs any longer or not at all, as the filter plugs up more and more.
Number one would be to check or put a new filter on it and then to the fuel pump if needed.

Put a pressure gauge on pump to see what it puts out. Also smell dipstick to check if pump is leaking gas into oil.

When driving and you push the accelerator nothing happen and you have to reapply it and sometimes it picks up and sometimes back fires it mainly happens at higher speeds.

I will change fuel filter and check fuel pressure.

Yes it hesitates mainly at higher speeds otherwise runs good has been tuned and timing ok.
