Not sure what forum I should post this in. Anyways, my car is an auto, but I'm tearing up the floor and putting in a new torsion cross member, figured I throw in a manaul hump while I'm there. I don't have a manual setup, but I'd like to put one in at some point. I remember reading on here somewhere that mouting an aftermarket auto trans shifter is an easy mount on to the hump, but I can't find it.

I don't have any pictures, but my brother had his B&M pro ratchet shifter mounted on the straight shift hump in his 71 duster. He made a plate and screwed it on the hump in the original boot screw holes, then drilled a hole in the plate for the cable and shifter mounting holes. It looked and worked real nice and could be removed without ever telling it was there.

It's easy peezy. Find a place you like, bolt it in and run the cable to the transmission. I riveted a sheetmetal plate over the 4 spd shifter opening which I'll pop off if/when I return the car back to a 4 spd.

any of the after market shifters with a cable shift set up would mount easy peasy. for a street car, I'd get a B&M Star shifter - regular detente shifting or put in first, pull the handle and rachet shift through the gears for no missed shifts... They've been making them for 30 years so proven dependable.

Sounds like an easy thing, just make an adapter plate, and bolt it in. Wasn't sure if an aftermarket setup cable would be long enough without doing some engineering. Thanks all!
