Stumbled into it....

Hey all,

I'm from Oklahoma, and happened upon this 67 Barracuda while hunting bumpers for my VW. Driving backroads, looking for Beetle field ornaments, my brother saw a couple old guys sitting outside a barn (old smoke house w/ metal building attached) and we decided to stop and ask them.

There was a 68 C10 sitting out front that looked like it hadn't run in several years and the back end of a 64 El Camino sticking out of the barn. Metal signs hanging everywhere.

While shooting the breeze and enjoying a cold beverage, my brother asked about the cars and the guy says 'everythings for sale'. Looking through the smoke house, through an open back door into the attached metal building i can see a fender, but only about the middle third of it. I say 'what's that?'. Him 'oh you wouldnt be interested in that, go on and look at it'.

I asked him what he would have to have for it and he settled on 'somewhere around 8'. Took a few pics and told him id come back the next day when he had a chance to think about it.

Next day he asked what i wanted for my Beetle. We did some negotiating and I ended up trading my 74 Beetle and a little cash for this Cuda.

Id had the beetle about 3 weeks with about 2k in it. The Cuda didn't have a title, and hadnt been tagged or registered since 1999, did have a bad lifter.

Heres what i wound up with, and what i traded....
