Been doing some Spring cleaning this week, moving the small block crank to this side of the room, and then to that side of the room (always stand it up on the flywheel end).

This morning, still half asleep, I went to move a box and the crankshaft fell down on the tile floor, but not before using my bare ankles to break the fall somewhat. Now with me bloodied and in pain, I wonder if a crankshaft can be bent/damaged after such an incident? Thank you.

When we were kids my friend dropped a manual flywheel on his toe! almost cut it off, after a visit to the ER he still has it to this day. The flywheel was just fine. as for your crank I think it is O.K.

nah - it had a nice soft landing..

If I could drop my crank on my ankles, I would consider myself a lucky man...lol.

My good billet crank us in my living room wedged between the wall and a China cabinet . A few weeks ago my 3yo great grandson managed to move it from it's stored spot to the middle of the room...it's 63 lbs! How da hell ...

I "seriously" doubt it. Hope you heal up soon!

Store it with the flexplate or flywheel installed....I do the same thing, catching falling stuff with my foot.

You know i never thought of that...did it numerous times but I didnt have a flywheel when I brought my crank into the house.

I have a Gen 3 flywheel that I just removed from a core engine....hmmmm
