What a total pain in the *** rock auto is. I thought I was going to save all this money with them, but not so much. Ordered a bunch of suspension parts from them. Took over a week to get them. Shipped from the Bronx NY, I'm in Cali. Once they finally arrived, the 2 KYB struts were in different boxes, one sealed, the other with the strut rod sticking out the end of the box !!! The dampening on the 2 struts were different. Its almost like 1 was new, the other sitting around, so they threw it in a box and shipped it.
Now the fun part. THEY HAVE NO PHONE NUMBER TO CALL SOMEONE !!!!!!
Now I'm going back and forth emailing, just to get them sent back. They are asking for photos, what is wrong with it, did shipping do it, full cavity search. This whole experience hasn't been worth the $10 I might have saved. Could actually cost me....Stay tuned.

Here on out, its Summit for me. No questions asked, return shipping label, nicely boxed, 2 day shipping etc etc.
On top of that I CAN CALL SOMEONE ON THE PHONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

F**K rock auto.

I had problem with kyb shocks too they sent 1 silver 1 white from two different places, could not get them to send newer version which is silver to match. shipping charges are killer . you can check shipping charges while in cart. I try to change parts to get shipping from same location = costs less . but not really a fan for Rock Auto anymore . Summit ,Jeggs, advance auto will match prices and get free shipping if you spend enough .

Just ordered the 2 struts from Summit (on the phone !).
Will be here tomorrow, and they threw in a hat and shirt for my troubles !!!!

Must have fallen and hit my head, to shop at rock auto.

I’ve only had one issue with anything I’ve gotten from rock auto. A rad hose looked like it was cut at some time. Contacted them and no questions asked they sent me a new one.

You do need to watch what warehouses the stuff comes from because shipping will add up.

I pretty much have stopped using RockAuto. The list prices are cheap, but their shipping charges are usually pretty high and the shipping is pretty slow. A lot of times once you add the shipping costs they aren't cheaper anyway. Usually from Summit I can get free shipping and have the parts the next day if they ship out of Sparks. And you can see before you order where Summit will ship the parts from, so if I need something the next day I know in advance if it'll ship out of Sparks or not. At RockAuto they tell you when your stuff is shipping from the same warehouse, but unless they changed something you don't really know which warehouse they're shipping from until it's in the tracking system.

What I really can't believe is that anyone still buys KYB's. Worst shocks ever. If you won't spend the money to buy good shocks just get a set of the stock looking Gabriels. They're cheaper, look more original and still don't suck as bad as the KYB's.

I once ordered a rack and pinion from then on a Sunday night, paid the extra to 2nd day ship it and have it on or by Friday to install and align over the weekend. Took them 4 days to ship it so it showed up on a Monday. There shipping is overpriced, stuff comes from 2-100 different warehouses. I fired Rock Auto after that. I just look up part numbers and go shopping on Summit, Jegs and Amazon.

Make sure you want what you order from rock auto. You have to pay to ship it back if it is your mistake.

Rockauto Phone Number | Call Now & Skip the Wait

Apr 25, 2019 - Customer Number 866-762-5288 - by the Numbers. Phone number to dial. 866-762-5288. Call-back available. YES. Call picked up by a real person. YES. Department you're calling. Customer Service. Call center hours. Best time to dial. Navigate phone maze to a human. Average wait.

Already tried that. Doesn't work. Here is what they say.
"We do not offer customer service by telephone"
So, that is a big negitore on a person picking up a phone.

Did I mention rock auto sucks ?

Ebay, northern auto parts, jegs, summit, doug herbert, mancini, mazzolini All great experiences.

Clay Smith cams, Hughes engines, comp cams, rock auto, all horrible to deal with.
Clay Smith sent me solid lifters I ordered...mix matched 2 brands and one with a nick on the face. Total bullshit.

I have had good luck with rock auto. Never a problem with returns had 2 different defective items no problem

i dont know what your problem is, from what i understand they helped Mike rebuild his nova

If I order 6 different parts from Rock, they come from 5 different places with 5 shipping charges!!! Someone once said, just order the brands that come from the same warehouse! Yea right!!!!
I have ordered a number of hoses from Rock for a couple cars at one time, and maybe saved a few, very few bucks!!
Basically companies that advertise on TV a lot, are really NO bargain!!!!
It is getting to where buying parts is just not that much fun any more!!!??????

I have bought a lot of parts from Rock Auto and have yet to have a bad experience.
I forget what it was, but I contacted them, and just said keep it, and gave me credit.
I am just not going to pay shipping from numerous places. I will simply go to town and get from NAPA, O Reilly, or local mom and pop store, or Summit.
I hit Rock to check prices. I will go thru them is it works out and I save enough cash!!

Just like at a swap, IF I am looking for a part, I offer what I think it is worth fair and square and to me.. otherwise I will just do with out . Screw it.

It's a little hit and miss. Sometimes it's a good deal. Other times - like if parts are coming from multiple warehouses - it's not. Their service changed dramatically sometime in the last few years. You used to be able to call and talk to someone and resolve issues pretty easily. Not the case anymore.

I haven’t had a bad experience with rock auto, my only gripe is that if I get something I don’t like from amazon I can send it back, can’t do that at rock auto. That’s their policy, no deception on their part. However, All it takes is eating one part or return shipping charge to wipe out any savings you might get.

I've ordered a few things from RockAuto, mainly when things are on "Wholesale Closeout": then I can justify shipping. Never had really any issues fortunately. But nowadays I get things on JEGS, Summit, and Amazon. Few shipping over 100 bucks then Amazon Prime is awesome for quick shipping. I just use RockAuto for part numbers most of the time. :)

I've gotten thousands in parts from Rock Auto. They take stuff back no problem. I've sent things back that were damaged or missing stuff. But it's rare. As was said - you have to check the warehouses they are shipping from... Sometimes its' not worth it and you can use a local NAPA or Car Quest (A jobber store). I get similar pricing from my local store anyway, but some things they can't look up or get without big shipping...lol. So it's buyer beware. Returns have never been an issue for me.

Closeout, closeout, closeout. Got everything to redo front disc conversion for my kids car on closeout. Got it all from the same warehouse. Cant beat raybestos severe duty brake pads for $12, bendix chromed steel caliper pistons for $3 each. I rebuild my own calipers, and had a nice set of rotors already.
