I installed the relays from Rob"crackedback". They are in my '69 Barracuda notch. A 60 amp. Denso alt. is in service with the output wire running to the starter relay. I added a dedicated 12ga. wire from the battery ground terminal to both sides of the radiator support where the lights pick up their ground. The results are amazing. Take note of the dash light intensity.
The photos were taken on the same road, while stopped in neutral, at the same spot.
The headlights are 21 year old Sylvania halogens in all photos.

Before it is mentioned or asked let me say,
1. My '69 notch has a '67 hood and grill with '68 inserts. That's the way I bought it 22 years ago and I like it.
2. I will be adjusting the headlights but didn't want to change anything for the photos.
3. The factory tach works but is too small for me to see clearly.
4. In images 705 and 707 I don't know what those 4 brown animals on the left side of the
road might be. I didn't notice them until I reviewed these photos.
Rob's relay kit was easy to install and you can see the results for yourself.

Yep, great setup, I put one on mine a few months back with great results. Only difference is I went with the GE Nighthawks that he recommends.
Lights are better than my modern daily driver now.

Waiting for Amazon to deliver Nighthawks. I just wanted to see the difference with only the relay kit. When I install Nighthawks beams I will make my adjustments.

Nice and thank you for posting this!

Maybe look at aiming drivers light a little more left.

Thanks for the purchase and if I can assist you with anything else, let me know. Happy to help out.

Thanks for the postive comment @MileHighDart

This was the first upgrade I did when I got my 64 Valiant back in January. Rob makes a badass product.

The improvement in your dash lights is the biggest I've seen to date! WOW

I definitely need to get me one. What makes the GE Night Hawks your choice for led upgrade?

One thing I noticed right away about the Nighthawks is I have tinted windows and turning a corner on a dark street was always a little sketchy because I had a hard time seeing for example someone walking across the street I was turning onto.
The Nighthawks design throws a lot more light to the sides right were I couldn't see before than the stockish Halogens. (Just something I haven't seen anyone mention about them)
The Nighthawks with the relay kit is killer lighting.
I almost never even use my hi beams after installing them.

Nighthawks are not LED.

Oh, I put Nighthawks in Amazon these were the first to come up and figured it was these.

Nighthawk is a branding GE use on lots of products. Some good, some OK, some junk.

GE H6024NH is the only H6024 lamp designed to produce more light on low beam, than the 6012 and 6014 lamps it generally replaced.
Typical H6024 lamps produce about the same low beam light as the earlier bulbs, but draw less power. Nominally 35 Watts, instead of 40 Watts or 50Watts respectively.

ref. candlepower forums 9/3/2009: Virgil " All H6054s except the Night Hawk have a 35w low beam. The H6054NH is a 65/55w (high/low beam) lamp. I know because that's what's inkstamped on the back of them (and because that's what my Fluke clamp-on ammeter shows when I power them on the test bench)."

Good to know! That was an interesting read.

Relay kit, denso, yadda yadda, Bosch headlight with replaceable H4 bulbs.

Flatter surface than regular headlights, but bright as the sun.

This rear bulb, and napa flasher.
Both are not cheap, but I've had the bulbs at least 8 years, and the directionals blink like crazy, with a definitive click - nice!

Not 100% that's the exact flasher I bought, internet pic.

I just received my crackedback kit for my road runner. First impression is OEM quality. Looking forward to getting the kit installed. Thanks for the comparison photos.

For those who may not know it, crackedback also makes an upgraded wiring kit for those who go with a higher output alternator. I got one when I installed a 100 amp alternator on my 73 Sport. Like his headlight harness, a top quality piece and well worth the cost.
