I pulled out the old buckets as they were not in good shape and installed these procar smoothback rally seats. Used the universal seat adapter. Not as easy as it looks as it seemed all the holes in the floor are different elevations and mounts on the adapter all needed cutting and welding. Seats not as big as I was expecting and bolsters a little big to fit me under the wheel but I will change that out next.

anyway - here is what they look like if anyone contemplating the same.

Well they look nice and comfty !
How do you like em?

well - I am not sure yet. Haven't been able to get the car out for a good run to see. They fit quite snug and a bit awkward getting in and out around the steering wheel. Once in, they are supportive. I don't expect to bottom them out when i hit a dip in the road like the stock ones.

I am concerned they are a bit small overall, short on the seat length, and a bit narrow on the flat part of the seat. I am average size so if anyone is over 6' and on the heavier side they may be a problem. I will need to sit and drive for 1/2 hour or so to get a good idea. They do recline and also have some vertical adjustment at front and back as well as the slider. Vinyl sure has improved in 50 years though.

Once you get a chance to drive around with them, give us an update - I'm looking for seats for some long distance driving...
