A flipper/scammer gets busted
Had a nice '92 Toyota Camry (4 cylinder/4 speed) I purchased from original owner when my '85 Caravan finally stopped (for good) on the side of the freeway circa 2002.
When I advertised the Toyota for sale in San Diego, an "interested" buyer had his friend/mechanic come out to the car. When I started the motor, the "mechanic" began telling me about a certain sound the engine was making that predicted an almost fatal ending. He tried for a long time to convince me that this particular noise was present. I did not hear anything out of the ordinary and eventually sold it to a friend, who continued to drive it daily for years without a problem.
