Or a hack saw if you are careful or a cut off wheel if you don't get greedy and blow into the porcelain.
I have a lathe though so I just do it with that. In a pinch at the track without a magnifier I've used a hack saw. Many times. Usually I make the customer do it after I show them. Not my fault they don't have the tools.
