No, of course not. It’s a lame attempt to try to match this motor with the car. With the numbers ground off, there is no way to link this motor to the car. The Julian date, if any, would be cast into the block, which makes no sense, and would not tie this motor to the car anyway, even if it happened to be the same day as the car was assembled. And as for the acid test, for $1.2 large, would you leave that job up to the “next owner”?
Once someone put a grinder to a factory VIN, all bets are off. They know it. Better send Uncle Tony over to scorch his butt!
