what is wrong with the Rn9yc Champions , to hot or to cold ? or just that they are champions ?

At 11:1 I don't run that plug. Unless you are over that CR you need a 12 champion. And, FWIW I never buy the N series plugs any more. There is no reason for that gigantic 13/16 hex. You can use the RC12YC plug and it has a 5/8 hex instead of the elephant size of the N series.

As for the back two plugs...my best tip is since you have manual steering, I'd order a set of Hooker 5204's and never look back. They are a PITA to get in, but once installed you can get to all the plugs and they make as much or more power than the rest of that cheap crap that blocks the 5 and 7 plugs.

Ok, if you're not up for changing headers (I'd seriously consider it not exclusions the above mentioned PITA part and the extra expense) you need to get at the plugs any way you can. Some guys pull the tire and sneak In there. I have a socket with a universal built in, or you can get a sperate universal.

It's a beeeeeeeotch with those headers. You have to do what you have to do and there's no wrong way to do it. Unless you break something.

Nothing, car ran a bit rich by looking at plugs ... just wondering if better plug out there or stick with champs.. Yeah, header change is out.. I'll try and remove tire and go from the bottom

Running rich isn't the plugs fault. I still say that 9 is too cold. Unless I see a good picture that shays otherwise.

I agree i run a 6 NGK on the street, and ran a 9 when i ran nitrous. a 9 is too cold for a N/A motor.

I use a pretty cold plug. I have higher compression in my Stroker motor and factory iron heads and I use pump gas.

I have the same problem with the headers on 5 and 7 myself. I took a spark plug socket and ground down the end that the ratchet or extension pops into. I ground it down until most of the square hole the ratchet or extension pops into was gone. Then you can slip the socket over the spark plug and get an extension into the socket. It is still tight, but it works.

On the 5 and 7 I usually can get them broke loose and then I slip a 6 in. piece of fuel line over the top half and spin it out with that...

Get one of those 3/8 extensions that's made of a tightly wound spring. They work very well.

I use NGK R5671A-7's on my stoker (with eddy heads). Reaching plugs 5 & 7....Ah yes, I vaguely remember those days. Sorry man, I switched to Headman Hustler headers years ago and have had no issues since...If I recall correctly getting a spark plug socket with a built in u-joint did the trick (got mine from Autozone I think).
Good luck.

Off the top of my head I don't recall what plugs I went with but, to get them out all you should need to do is get a socket on there (I use a 3/8" drive deep well with a short extension ..and yeah, it's a SOB to get the exact right configuration to reach - and it's probably different for both!) and just get them to crack loose, then a piece of rubber hose (like what comes inside a spark plug socket) over the tip should allow you to spin it out by hand... the trick is getting them back in. You've been warned.

Always go with proper torque spec (you already knew that) and, this may just be me, I use a small dab of anti-seize on the plug thread before I install them.
