Documents complete history of US Army Air Corps 97th bomb group during the second world war.
My father served with the 97th in Tunisia & Italy from 1943 to 1945 and flew on 27 B-17 missions as a gunnery officer. Uncle also served with the 97th coming into the war in early 1945. Was reassigned to ground support to include liberation of concentration camps and became career air force. Retiring in1968.
