Looks like I'm about to get my *** handed to me.

My car ain't ready to track so we gonna meet up and run at a certain spot.

My dart race car vs his ford bronco.
My 4.88 dot drag radials & spool vs his mud terrains with 3.50 and locker.

My gutted car against his full weight.

His almost 700 HP vs my 450...

My shift point 6,000 his shift point 7,000..

Oh boy....... although in all fairness, I don't own a full, high end race engine building business....

Two greasy fingernails type guys, running the best thing they got available, for as much cash as can be spent......

Valves may fly.....

My money is on YOU ! he don't stand a chance, somethings going to break.

While he does break **** a lot. He just coming off the lift with a fresh engine, fresh trans and new rearend.

My only hope is that he gets excited and blows the tires off. Although he is a seasoned driver.

For me its hope he sends a push rod through a rocker, snaps a rocker, destroys his rear gears or burns a trans band.

While hopefully my junk just works.....although in the heat I may be tempted to push past the shift light and just.pray she keeps pulling and dont let go.

I can't tell you how many times my shift light went off and I was all F that! That ford ain't getting away from me!!!

Go find a wheelbarrow, let all the air out of the tire, and fill it with gravel. Then pound a 12pk of Banquet and put your shoes on the wrong feet. Now run around the block pushing the wheelbarrow. That's what driving a full size Bronco is like. Biggest piece of **** I ever owned. Mine couldn't hook up with 200hp, much less 700hp. That was a safety feature though as it prevented you from getting to the dangerous speed of 35mph. At that speed it required ninja skills to keep it in one lane.

Did you get the new converter installed, and practice with it a bit?

Yup. New converter is in. New CRT trans is in.

I been playing on the street.

My plan is to foot break to 2500 28 or so and leave with some pump shot left in the carbs.

He running fitech.

As much as I enjoy bagging on him hes a good friend and knows what hes doing.

If I loose I can talk smack about how much cash he has into his build. If I win, well then I get to make fun of him forever!

The HP difference makes me a bit nervous but it wont be the first time I've "fought up".

My chassis is dialed, his is stock...

If he spins out the hole and has to let out, I'm gone.

:steering:

If it comes down to handling he's screwed! You're going to be straight as an arrow and he's going to be all over the place...

Tomorrow, mid day.

We both slow roll up to the green light and wait for red.
No stage, get on the converter and go on instant green.

I have the option of 2 step, line lock and leaving with the button, but I think I'm better off leaving with some pump shot vs leaving foot to the floor.

Let me guess who's rolling start idea this is...

No roll start, they're staging to a red. Green means go (not the yellow!) Good luck. You got the weight advantage and the gear.

Without a doubt, you’ll spank his ***. He doesn’t have a chance. 700 HP in a Bronco... LOL, he’s gonna need every bit of that to move that slug.

Looks like you have the combo to be in the 11’s.

So what are ya gonna spend your new dough on? :D

He'll leave in 4x4 …. no spin. May be a tough round for ya in a stop light war

Yes, but the transfer case and extra gearing and axels drain more HP, so there's that, Cope for the win !
Cope make sure you don't spin with those 488's on the street. Did you have CRT transmissions build you a 904 ? 904 is worth a couple to 3 tenths over the 727, even more in some cases,

The bronco has 3.50 gears? What’s he got for mud tires? 33’s? 35’s? 38’s???!!

I say he’s got at least 50lbs per wheel tire combo. That’s 200 pounds of rotational weight he’s gotta get movin...with 3.50 gears no less.

I dunno man. His combo doesn’t sound well sorted out.

I think it’ll be an easy win for you. If I didn’t have work tomorrow, I’d love to be there to watch.

I'm thinking he leaves in 4 Lo, giving him a 700 gear ratio with 700 horsepower and 7000 rpm's and 4 tires for traction. That may be a tough out in a 0-60 stop light war.

That very well may be his plan, I had a friend that ran in the mud bogs , he had a mustang II on a Dodge Power wagon chassis, had a BB Chevy 500 ci 720 hp dyno , that thing was bad to the bone ,ran 370 something gear ratio , loose converter 8 inch, don't know the weight but very light weight , it would skim across the slop on a good pass. I would bet on him , sorry Cope but it was a well oiled machine , if his friend hasn't had a lot of time to sort it out, I am liking Cope .

Okay, maybe.

What year bronco are we talkin here? Kinda will give me an idea on his transfer case, if he don’t blow it up.

1985 bronco.

CRT didn't build it. I did but he sold me all the bad *** parts. I said "I want a bad *** race trans that will handle what ever I throw at it."

He said, "give me your CC info...."
And I did....

Win, lose or draw, it will be fun, as long as we dont have any run ins with the local LEO...:steering::BangHead:

My money is on cope. He is big and heavy and its gonna take a lot to turn those big mud tires. They are tall and gonna make those 3.50s like 2.50s. With 700 hp and that much weight if he does hook something will break.

Is it at all possible that he over estimated his hp any?? I know alot of guys that have 500hp that is rounded up about 200!
