Car is a 1974 Duster with a 440 swap and battery trunk relocation. Wiring from the ground up with what I believe is the oroginal (slant 6) harness. Starter relay, ballast and ECU are on the firewall so rerouting all that. This is my first major wiring job and I’m not sure about these two plugs. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The one in the 2nd pic looks like it might be the wire that goes on the brake valve down by the steering box.
Works the no brakes light on the dash !!!!

First picture is the connection to the neutral safety switch/ backup light harness that runs down to the three prong switch on the side of the transmission. Second is the wire that plugs on to the brass brake distribution block.

You guys are awesome. I would never have figured that out. Halfway up the brake plug is a spade connector. But I don’t see anywhere for that. Was it originally for power brakes (long gone).

And ok... I thought the neutral safety switch ran to the similar connector coming off the same bulkhead plug as the wiper motors... now i need some help with that one...

Mymopar.com, download you wiring diagram. It's all in there.
I’ve got the manual, but so much has been hacked up or moved on this car I’m having a tough time. It’s also my first time rewiring and engine bay so I appreciate all your patience with me!

Yes you are correct, That is the one I thought you were talking about in the first picture.

Yeah, the one in my original post is about half was down the drive side inner fender. I already bypassed the seatbelt interlock stuff so I know it isn’t that and it doesn’t seem to match up to anything in the chassis manual

Being a 74, that first plug could have been related to the seatbelt interlock system. Blue should be hot, and is that yellow going to the starter solenoid? I have a 74 Duster, but that was all changed long before it got to me or I could help. I can get a pic tomorrow of the two plugs that are not in use in my bay. They are right up by the firewall though.

Edit: amazing what gets typed while you're typing!

I don’t think it’s the interlock plug. I believe that was a red T shape. I spliced the two yellows to bypass that one and taped it off already.

I just went out to look. You’re right. Red tee shaped plug. Having said that, I have no plug like the one in question under my hood on the drivers inner fender. My car is a 4 speed so certain stuff could be different. Did the car have cruise or AC? Just thinking of options. Mine is basic so not much there.

I wish I knew. I bought it as a completely gutted drag car with boxes and boxes of parts. On the plus side, the harness isn’t cut up- but I have no idea how the car was originally optioned.

Just as an update. Mystery plug # 1 in my original post (3-wire) seems to go to the speed control unit according to the service manual, which I will not be using. Just in case anyone is searching for the same thing down the road.
