Silver Sport A41 4speed auto

do you mean you did something else, (GV, ect), or just wish you had not stayed stock?

Curious though. Whats the automatic trans they are using behind the chrysler bellhousing. Looks like a GM torque converter and flywheel. If you got a factory floor shifter and console will this trans work.

its a GM, A41 (GM 4L60E / GM 4L65E Aftermarket replacement) I think I will request a quote for shytes n giggles

they say they have linkage for factory column and console.

$5100 shipped. free shipping until the end of the month, so your mileage will vary. what concerns me, and it's not a big deal since i could just say i have a 318 or buy a 360 now and just eat the $$ for both all at once, is they claim this won't work with my 68' 273.
"The 273 was a different bolt pattern and the starter was on the Passenger side."

A500 42RH or A518 46RH. A little fab work to bolt in. All over the junkyards. Has a 3 speed pattern with O/D pushbutton lockup. Chrysler designed offshoot of the torqueflight A904-A727. Rebuild kits readily available. Has a .7 O/D. A500 has a numerically lower first gear that the A518. Can be built to handle a decent amount of HP. Way cheaper buy in price. Factory Chrysler part. Lokar and summit both make a push pull kickdown cable arrangement for it. If you already have an aftermarket A904 -A727 shifter, it will direct fit the Chrysler O/D. I will pass on the A41

What?

All i can say about the A41 is if anybody buys it for $5100 is that a fool and their money have parted ways.

what what? the 273 stuff?...ya

i haven't priced out doing all this piece meal but it's probably pretty close by the time you have a shop build the trans and source the parts. it is a complete kit with a stand alone controller, driveshaft, bellhousing, ect. a built 904 with a gear vendor is going to be pretty close to that.
as far as the factory options, i'm pretty sure every one of them require hacking up the tunnel. lord knows i all ready have enough **** to do

Maybe not if somebody had a BB it's a option for them. That is if they are going to do some driving.
yup

that's where i started. almost 3 years old and i found it interesting not many write ups since

There was this video posted about a year ago, but you probably already ran across it too.

4950 was my quote, I thought you didn't have to cut the torsion bar cross member with the GM kit but the instructions say so. If I have to cut I'm going A500 or 518. meh

Starter on the other side on a 273? Not! on the drivers side like all other Mopar engines.
ya, i emailed them back suggesting they "research" their "facts". the reply was along the lines of "each kit is specific to your car..."
i do like their kit, but i have a closet full of parts to install before i get around to deciding on an OD

It doesn’t have to be removed completely but does have to be notched back about 1” on the firewall side

on the firewall, they say you need to flatten out the pinch weld. would have to look at the instructions again, can't remember if you notch the cross member or not. i do know you don't need to to cut the floor, like you do with a A500 or 518

I think that is what they quoted me for a complete five speed manual conversion on my Cuda. The six speed was supposed to be $1k more than that. :wtf:

I now have 80% of what I need to put an A833 OD in and I should have less than $1k in it when I am done.
