8 1/4 to 8 3/4 swap

so I'm over here because there's a wealth of knowledge that may help me understand what's needed in my 489 cone-style suregrip swap. Please correct me if I mis-state something, as this is my first mopar.(67 satellite)
From what I've read I could pull the axles and use them to check the new rear for slip.
Also, my understanding is by using green bearings, it's a straight swap, other than using a new combo u-joint.
The only thing I'm unsure about is the thrust button. With green bearings, does it stay in or out? With greens, there's no adjustment, correct?
