Years ago I got the paint that is correct for my 1970 340 - it had a limited run (1970 and 1971 to March on 340s and a couple years on street hemis - 70-71 I think). Anyway, my water pump went up and I need paint so I can get my show car back on the road. Anybody know of a source that is correct? I'm trying to get the right stuff to match what's already on the rest of the motor.

Check the MoPar dealers?
Run through Summit racing and grab the “MoPar paint.”

It should be "Hemi Orange" and was used on many high performance engines. Mopar sells the color as part no. P4349216, but who knows if today's paint will "match" something painted years ago. Even the heat of the engine will cause the colors to change over time.

if you want it "correct" 340's had their own color that resembles street hemi orange.

the MP paints are no where near the "correct" colors... most use street hemi orange though.

if you want the "correct " color then contact frank badalson at roger gibson restorations.. his engine paint is considered the most correct in the business...

if you used some off the shelf spray bomb then who knows what color it actually is..

Paint your water pump, check color if the pump color is within reason, install pump and use your rattle can paint and shade the color in with your timing cover. Using lite coats it will blend in just right.
