Why are people scared of the drag strip?

Stuff breaks when you race. In any racing that's the case. I used to race motorcross. After so many races it's time to rebuild. That's with any racing. If you have a sponsor then they share the burden of cost. If you don't, you pay the big money and big time it takes. If that's your hobby then have a good time, but you have to respect that not everyone has the same skill level and dollar bills.
Do just for the record the guys I talk to, definitely had thirty-five bucks to race, definitely had time to kill, and definitely didn't have some $50, 000 car to lose. None of them had the kind of horsepower that was going to put them into the wall not for a second and I wasn't asking them to race a whole season or beat on their car for the whole entire summer racing bracket class. I was just saying go down and take a few passes for one time in your car's entire life....
