So I'm visiting relatives for a brief vacation and the local Upullit has a 70 Fury with what looks to be a small block from the picture on their website. I'm gonna try to get the power steering setup off of it, but of course I brought no tools with me on vacation. A rummage through my cousins stuff turned up a ball joint fork, good sized hammer, a small phillips I hope will work for the roll pin, pliers, and 1/2" breaker bar with a set of shallow standard sockets (no extensions). I'm hoping the 3/4" works for the steering box bolts and I don't need anything deep. I assume the sockets will also be good enough for the pump bracket bolts. I already have a ps column for my car, so no worries there. Am I forgetting anything? The sockets go up to 7/8", and I'm pretty sure the pitman arm crown nut isn't that big. I appreciate any input.....

Steering box bolts are often 12 point. A phillips often will spread the roll pin, making removal difficult. Removing the top of the coupler will sometimes work. I dislike Harbor Freight, but if you need one time tools...

All the sockets are 12 point, and check the brand name. My cousin can’t fix a sandwich, much less anything on a car. The sockets are old Snap-On and the ratchet Cornwell. I suppose his wife’s granddad did it right back in the day. From my reading, it appears that roll pin is no joke, so maybe I’d be better going at the coupler. I expect there will be no key and since it’s a 70 the column will be locked. This could be an adventure.

Just buy a punch set for the roll pin since you have a BFH. I've never had a big issue with the pin.

You could unbolt under the dash and back the whole column out of the way. No key, no problem.
You'll probably need that box coupling with the swap. There is a tiny pin just under the cap that holds the guts in it. So forget feckin with the 1/4 dia. split pin for now.
I think I separated the exhaust Y pipe at both exhaust manifolds and shifted it out of the way to get the steering gear out from under my 67 w/LA. Take along a hack saw just incase?
I think I needed extension and universal to get on one of the gear box mounting bolts buried in a hole but the universal may have been for impact clearance. Pliers for the one cotter pin, gloves safety glasses... Good luck
