My buddy is getting ready to make some passes in his slingshot. I was working in the shop and hear the the fire get lit. This thing is crazy loud.
I walk over and hes inside his shop wicking the loud pedal. I'm out side and I can feal it in my chest and its hurting my ears.

On shut down he looks over and I realise hes not wearing ear protection....I'm like where is your ear protection? He says I cant find it. I looked all over and just said screw it.

I point to the roll cage and ask these them? They were hanging on the main hoop...
:)

We got to chatting and I asked what this run? He said it's been OVER 200MPH...

Wow.

Sorry I was to distracted to get a video but I did think to take the one pic for all ya!

Enjoy!

Steering box on the bell housing, I hope the clutch stays in it.

Well saftie was not a big concern when these were built...

When you pick up the front end the entire frame bends. The tie rods and drag link a made from super thin wall aluminum tube.
This is not a reproduction. This is an old school, legit dragster.

It is in no way shape or form safe by any standards.

I have a neighbor that has a slingshot, He takes it to car shows and they pay him a couple hundred bucks to let it cackle.
Before he goes to a show I can hear him fire it up. Cool stuff.

Awe common J par. You know you would.

He actually has another one hanging from the rafters but hes kinda prickly about picks of his stuff. I had to show him the picture before he agreed to let me post it here.

Looks like the one my buddy had back in the 80's, your nads are up against the back of the diff, hope the ring & pinion stay were they should.

Don't count on it...
