The things people say to sell their car LOL...

I have to admit I like the patina look 100 times better that that 80s garbage!! Omg that is horrible and hideous!! So many classic muscle cars were ruined like that. I know I'm gonna get alot of flack by the older people in the group that was doing that in the 80s! But remember I was born in the 80s by the time I got old enough to start noticing muscle cars the whole restoration phase had started! And it was all about factory original, OEM nos , rare survivor barn find cars and making them look original again ie saving them from the garbage look of the 80s haha

I copied that picture of the 80s car to make sure when my mind gets painted it gets painted like that!!...

I have to say I like the 80's stuff, Dartfreak75. Maybe being born in 59 has something to do with. Loved that period as well as the 60's drag pics. Ducking for cover now...

And I like all 3 phases. I seen them all come and go. Another thing that was popular in the 80's was heartbeats on the side... i worked with a guy in the late 80's that had a beautiful duster... mini tubbed, skinnies on the front, so dark it looked black with a pink heartbeat on the side :D . I like the resto era as well, especially when they looked stock and had a whopping motor. But I've always liked old and original..... cars, trucks, 50's cafe's, gas stations. Love the look :)

I like the nostalgic 60s drag cars like the ratty 30s and 40s cars with the altered wheelbase and the gassser front suspension. Like the ramchargers high and mighty!! That is cool and even later in the 70s and 80s I like the drag cars with the crazy paint and flashiness. I just don't like it when that is incorporated into a street car. I'm sure that was alot of it. Young guys trying to make there cuda look like the one they saw ronnie Sox or whoever they saw at the track.
Don't kill me but...I saw one on carsonline and would have bought it if I was rich. Ducking for cover:rofl:

Lol na I get it! I see the attraction! Its just not me. I get that some like it I just dont i want my old car to look like it did the day that is was purchased! I value others opinions and respect their right to differ from mine.

I'm making my '76 Duster look like a "late 70's-old school" hot rod, or bracket car. LOL... Oh yeah, gold wheels, Large PLYMOUTH on the 1/4 panels, Dougs, Traction bars, scoop.....

I was fortunate enough to meet Ronnie Sox in around 2002/2003 he was actually our local drag strip and he had a pair of his 68/69 (?) Barracudas with him. He wasnt driving them one of his crew members were but he was there in a tent signing autographs and selling shirts lol he was such a cool down to earth guy we actually talked for a while he was so cool I was very young around 17 or 18 most people like him wouldn't have taken a kid like me seriously and wasted time talking but he did he actually looked at pictures of my car lol. He autographed a photo for me I still have it in a frame to this day!

Its petty blue tho!! You can't screw up petty blue!!

I have a friend who always talks about the Gambler 500 LOL and then I look it up and it seems to be just a big excuse to drink and drive in the woods and if you're picking up trash it's Justified...
I could be completely wrong though. It's just when I read about it it seems like it's a lot about the party afterwards..
