Brake light wiring help - 64 Valiant

Trying to find information on how the brake light switch is supposed to be wired.

By way of background - sorting a newly acquired Valiant (V200). PO had done some very 'creative' wiring, all of which seems to have been to work around a faulty turn signal switch. He had also installed a new brake light switch (probably non-original design) which he connected directly to the battery on one side, and then patched into the brown and green wires to the tail lights at the driver's footwell. In the process (or more likely due to a broken turn signal switch), he also completely disconnected the rear blinkers. To overcome that problem he then mounted new indicators on the rear bodywork and ran wires from the front indicators to the rear to power them...

So far, I have done the following:
All lights now work - sort of. The problem I now have is that, because the brake pedal switch is still directly patched to the brown and green wires in the footwell, as soon as you press the brake ALL blinkers stop working. Brake lights are on, but front and rear blinkers stop flashing while the brake is pressed.

What I'd like to do is work out how to connect the brake pedal wiring correctly to restore full and safe functionality. I have not been able to find a wiring diagram that shows the brake pedal wiring...and even if I did, I wouldn't know where to look for where to re-connect into the harness.

Can anyone shed light/pictures etc on this to help me fix it properly?

All help very much appreciated...
