Turbo Teen

What about pressure ratio intake to exhaust side, aren't headers better for that? I read in a David Vizard book that most home-fabbed turbo setups can't do better than 2:1 exhaust:intake which is why a low-overlap cam is usually used; the higher pressure on the exhaust side pushes the mixture back into the intake if there's too much overlap. On max-effort race setups the ratio is 1:1 so any cam can be used.

Ya know I’m not sure. I’m on the stupidity level of funneling all the exhaust into the turbo lol. But I could imagine that headers would be better overall in a pro build. You could effectively time the exhaust pulses to become sequential, flowing into the turbo. Instead of being like me and having every cylinder randomly pump exhaust into the plumbing at different times.

Dumb ol’ logs work very well tho. And many Diesel engines basically use a log type manifold. The heat retention, less prone to cracking and warping are huge benefits, not to mention the price tag.
