A very rare product review from me......

I hit my left pinky finger with a Vaughn 22oz framing hammer today.

The hammer worked!

I may need to go in for an alignment though.......

It is swollen, but no more than a slight ache & numb at this point.

It is interesting though, if I try to hold my hand steady, it swings from left to right & back erratically like a damaged metronome. Nerve damage perhaps...

Better get it checked out.

Ouch. Hopefully the movement is just temporary.

There's not a hole in the wall or a divit in the floor, is there?

The steps are gone.

The floor is intact.

So is my warped sense of humor. :)

Thankfully I use two other fingers to type, so I can still post here - 'hammered' or not.

Whoa, hang on....
"Framing" hammer? Where are the waffle grid marks? You sure it wasn't a smooth face finish hammer? For your sake, I hope it was a smoothie. You will heal faster!
I love the feel of a fresh hammer. The head doesn't slide off the nail or deflect, it just goes where it is swung. The only drawback is that the waffle face takes skin with it when you catch a finger or thumb!

33 years in construction as of THIS month....
I do recall some sore fingers and thumbs for the first few years. THEN when the nail guns started to get popular, we had the problem of people shooting themselves!

wow, I've seen that kind of pinch injury before. I tried to catch my new roll-up garage door before it crashed down and one finger tip got stuck in a hinged panel joint. When I finally extricated my finger, it looked like a Hanna-Barberra cartoon. It was like 3/16" thick and about 1/2" wider than normal. I was actually pretty lucky, it didn't break the skin, no long term nerve damage, didn't break any bones, and it's fine, now. But I wouldn't have bet on it from the way it looked immediately afterward.

Try hitting it with a 30 oz waffle Estwing, guaranteed you will cry.............
