Had to modify my oilpan to fit centerlink 67 Bcuda 440/4speed.
73 disc brake K frame, Schumacher mounts. Seems like 440 sits a little to far forward. Not sure why. Hoping mod will fix prob. Bell crank next. Oh joy !

If the trans is on its mount correctly the motor is in the right spot . Can't be any other way . If you are using Schumacher mounts be advised that the engine is offset to the right as it would be OEM . MY suggestion is to get some 1/4" stock , loosen the motor mount studs and install . If this helps make some permanent . Milodon pans fit pissa .

Had to use newer crossmember and fliped mount around and it bolted right up.

Lots of space , firewall to block a good 2 in.

You could alter the trans mount to allow the trans to sit further back easily enough. Just add to the rear of the flange/s that bolt to the box. There definitely looks to be too much gap at the bulkhead for sure.

I have a spool mount K-member that has the mount stands modified for SB and BB. They unbolt and you turn them around to located the BB farther back. A friend of mine designed it to run a SB or BB in his 71 Dart. Since they never made a Spool mount BB K-member for an A-body, I wonder if that is the difference?

I found the thread where I posted some pictures of this K-member.
[WANTED] - Engine Mounts to go on Spool type K-Member.
Thanks, but if I have to pull motor and cut old mounts and reweld. it don't make sense to have paid for the Schumacher mounts ! and headers , and bell crank kit. Paid a lot to make it work when I should have just bought a BB k frame . I also have a 68-72 style k frame with biscuit style mounts if I have to ! ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THIS HARD !!!

I don't have first hand experience with the Schumacher conversion mounts. We always had to make stuff fit. But I find it strange that those mounts locate the engine so far forward?

Did you have to box the front of the K-member? It is a tight fit without moving the engine further forward.

no . all I had to do was cut the ears of mounts on frame and lower the hole @ 1in or so. By their instructions

They sent me mounts for a Direct Connection K frame ? Mid 70s BB a body. I never heard of it ? I don't know how they got the idea that thats what I had ? Now I have to wait another 4 to 6 weeks for them. Not very Happy right now . But what can I do but vent !!!

i guess the mounts wouldn't just bolt to the front of the lugs on the block instead of the back of them as in your pics? that would pretty much do it. just a thought, although i can't see if the driver side would then clear the oil pump so......
regards, neil.
