It's Willys Wednesday :steering:

Gooood Morning

Was it just me? Or was the site a little rough hooking up to this morning?
I think a Willys like that would just be a totally baddd street rod.

I think it put all the cookies in a different jar during the server switch. LOL
A couple times last night it didn't let me in. Then was OK for a while. When I got home from work I tried it and could not get on - a little after midnight. But then just before I went to bed near 2AM it was working again...

I saw a couple of gardens here the other day so thought I'd show our little greenhouse. We had to get something at our RV that could protect our apple tree our daughter and SIL gave us as a gift. Rather than fence it in I put this up. Have tomatoes, lettuce, an avocado plant, artichoke and 3 blueberry plants.

HOOPS! You gots HOOPS! Well 1 Hoop anyway. The farmers around here have thousands of acres under those things. About 4-5 years ago they started using them. Mostly for berries. The farmers that now grow a formerly controlled substance, some legal, some not, use them also. When that crop is close to a public road or is reasonably visible they plant a screening bush at the end of the hoop to conceal what's really going on in there .

I didn’t have any issues with the site, and yeah that would be a pretty cool street rod, may want a different set of tires on rear.

That would be convenient for on-site quality testing.

This weather should drive all the tourists that go to the Pismo Dunes nutz. They'll show up on their paddles and I think rain is expected Sunday. Either get your teeth shook out or change tires, if you brought a change at all when the dunes get wet and packed.

@Rainy Day Auto
I had my '66 Ranchero de-badged and painted a dark metallic green, a Cadillac color. Never regretted it. That green was so dark, I went to pick up the lady I was dating at the time for lunch one day "Where's your truck?" she says. "It's right there". "No, your truck is black, not green." She had never seen it in the daylight.

So I was adding up the weights of the parts and comparing them to the weights I have for the stock parts that have been upgraded in the dart. As it sits, without interior or roll cage, I'm just shy of 2600 pounds based on the crop scales. I figure 2-250 hundred pounds in the cage and such. figuring on the same in the interior goodies, puts it right around 3000-3100 pounds with 600 hp 440 and a T56/Dana 60 combination. So essentially stock weight of a 74 dart swinger.

Hey @halifaxhops or @Mattax , to reduce the vacuum advance do you screw the adjuster in through the vacuum nipple. My 70 318 runs good without ping with the advance disabled. I might just go for some test drives and adjust to see what improves.

@ alerts still not working. at least in this thread.

Yes. You can change when it moves. I wrote 3/32 allen here How To Limit and Adjust Chrysler Vacuum Advance Cans
so hope that was right. LOL.
Got a vac pump & gage? If so, you can pop the cap and see the vacuum the advance moves.

That is roughly same profile as my Cuda, I run mid tens all day with slicks. You will be quick for sure.

ah just the poster I was looking for.

If one wanted to bypass the neutral safety switch, Can I just use a jumper wire, or should I run it thru a toggle switch? This is a temporary solution by the way. NSS went out on the truck and we're leaving for camping tonight. No one has a replacement until next week.

Know the mech advance? I know snap on sells a timing light with a dial back feature!

Nice!. The one goal I had when I set out to do this, was to stay around the stock weight. Everyone told me it'd be nearly impossible for a street car to do.
