Try to decide if i should post members name who pretended to be friend then skipped oit on paying bill. He has had plenty of time to pay. I finally have up and am treating it as business now. I gavre him 30 days to pay then will proceed with law suit. This is what he said after he blocked me on face book and i told him 30 days to pay or i file.

Hey Mike just because you came out and said something that ******* stupid. you're now going to sue I am blocking you in every way shape or form.I can not Believe that you would say something like that so are you just stuck your foot in your mouth again good luck nice talking to you.

This was a rotisserie build over 600 hours. He owes 2500 dollars.

Good luck. Hope you have bills to back up your work.
Personally i never let a job leave the yard if bill exceeds $1000.
And to the member that stiffed him, shame on you!
A real gentleman never pulls tis crap. You are responsible for taking up Mike’s time, something he’s entitled to.

So what did you say, that he's upset about?

yup, put his name up, if only so he can give his version of the events

Repo it, get a sheriffs deputy to go with you and reposes it

Wow that's a beautiful challenger ! No way I wouldn't pay for that.

Blows my mind that someone wouldn't finish paying 2500 for that that is clearly a 25k + car. It no telling what he has in it already 2500 seems like a small amount remaining. Maybe something happened to him financially? What did the conversation consist of?

So do you still have possession of the car or does he have it and just not paid you for your work??

That sucks sorry to hear.

Hopefully your pics will bring you business..... they should.

And you let him take the car without being paid in full? Sorry this one is on you. He is in possession of the car and your left holding what?

Way back in about 1986 or so I was at a semi local chassis shop. It was past closing and we were bench racing with the owner.

All of a sudden, the door flies open and 5 dudes with baseball bats came in. They literally took the car they didn't pay for, and all the paper work and left.

I alsed the shop owner WTF just happened. He said he let the bill get too high and didn't document all the changes they made from the original work order. What started out as a ladder bar car became a 4 link deal. Then the A arm front became struts.

When they received the final bill they refused to pay what the original written work order called out so he kept the car. Until that night.

He never recovered his money.

Every time I see that guy at the track I want to split his wig. He's a criminal, just like his dad. But everyone at the track loves that puke.

Protect yourself OP. Never let anything out of the shop when they owe a penny on it. You'll get screwed every time.

Business is business.

Unless it's five guys with baseball bats! LOL...

Be a shame if someone kicked that quarter at a show, over a $2500 debt.

I think I'd rather pay the debt instead of lie sleepless at night.

If the work was shoddy, I figured that dirty laundry would have aired by now.

Go to a Judge with the bill and file a lien on the car.
Some states the owner can take the car without paying the bill and some they can't.

Example:
CA you can keep the car until the bill is paid, but that doesn't apply in AZ.
In AZ the legal owner can show up with a Sheriff and take the car bill paid or not.
Then the shop must sue for the bill and hope they get it.

This is right off a page showing Arkansas lien laws.
"5) An Arkansas Mechanics Lien Can Only Sometimes Include Profits
An Arkansas mechanics lien claim must be stripped to simply the costs of the labor and/or materials furnished. Any and all profits cannot be included in the lien claim except under one circumstance: You are engaged in a fixed price contract and you have completed the contract."
