Hello all, finally managed to get the new dash installed. It appears that the dimmer rheostat is duff, as it is a bit fiddly to get the dash lighting to work.

Can anyone recommend a good supplier, or send me the PN so I can see if I have the correct one laying on stock? Thanks.

I don’t know who the original supplier was; however, I pulled 5 identical switches I had within arm’s reach - 2 had the same part number, 2 others had different numbers and another had no part number but did say “Made in USA”. The ones with part numbers also said MOPAR or had the Pentastar. I’d say the one with no part number is aftermarket. I’d be willing to bet all work as they all came out of running cars with lights that worked.

Wow! thanks for the effort. I will ask my Brother to check inventory, and I will get back to you...Jonathan

I would venture to guess either the 2580483 or the 2820782 would be in the part number range for a 68. Just sitting here taking a break from working on my 65 Dart so happy to help out.

Walk into a parts store and get one. Available over the counter. Get a parts manual too from mymopar.com

F.Y.I. Aftermarket switches are later type so one size fits all. This means that the new switch will include a extra male spade terminal for a chassis ground wire that you car doesn't have. To add a ground wire there is recommended.

Not sure if parts stores in Germany where the OP lives would have what he needs. Mail order might be best for him.

Thanks. I called my Brother, and he looked on the shelf. He found two NOS switches, a 2580483 and a 2448823 he is bringing them with in June. Thanks all for your help. Jonathan

Btw...have the cuda on the road today - first time with legal registration...

Didnt do a geography check. I know you can get them over the counter in NA.

i’ve got a friend in France who said he can get stuff for his Duster at this store that caters to all American cars. Pricey but a lot of stuff is available. You’re right that Any Napa, Advance Auto, O’Reilly’s, etc here in the US has that headlight switch. Unsure what chains you have in Canada but sure it’s the same thing.
