So i am trying to piece together my 1967 dart with a 383, i'm having trouble with my wiring. I recently bought a HEI distributor for my car and it came with the distributor, ignition module, ignition coil, and i believe its called a ballast resistor. i bolted my ignition module down and wired it to the distributor. Well, i was reading up and it says the the green wire on the wiring doesnt need to be hooked up to anything. I grounded it to my car. Then i read up that I dont even need a ballast resistor, can someone explain to me how i would properly wire it? thank you, i am using switches for ignition, and a push switch to start. Thank you, any help would be appreciated.

A picture, or at least a model number of the distributor would sure help.

Whether the ballast resistor is req'd or not depends on what coil was included. Some coils will operate on continuous 12 volts, others will overheat.
