MEMBER "RDWSP" DID NOT FINISH PAYING BILL

i would like some more information
first of, the thread title reads "member who did not finish paying his bill"
that means he started, right?
how much did he pay in?

as Yellow Rose pointed out, plans change, and i'd be curious to hear if that might have happened here, and perhaps the customer paid the original quote?

how do you even go about quoting a job like this?
i know a lot of contractors got paid by partial completion (changing gears here) you know, they quote a house for 200K, the pour the foundation, get paid 40K, put up the frame, get paid 40K, put the roof on, 40K, well, you get the idea. perhaps that could be implemented on your future jobs, to keep debts from building up

in post #4 the question was asked "what did you say that caused him to block you"
did that ever get answered?
 
Got a friend of mine dealing with a similar situation.
He did a custom truck, out of pocket on some sublet work as well as what he's done.
Customer took the truck to have some custom artwork on the bedsides. When it left it still had work that needed finished. Truck hasn't been back and Bob's been trying to get paid for what he did. Bob has know this guy for years and now he's being done this way.
Hobbies get the sunshine treatment when it comes to money.
 
So answer the question. What's he talking about that you said? What's the other side of the story here? There always is. I'm not sayin you're in the wrong. I'm just sayin there is ALWAYS another story with these deals. Save the agony and tell us now. Because sooner or later, he will.
 
Some people have the money too pay their bills, and they choose to screw over people. Maybe the other guy has a case but this ain't Judge Judy and people's court either.
It has ben said before, be careful dong business with relative and friends?? It should never be that way.
 
I let the car go home because i had to move and had no where to store. I know i should have took it and sit it outside but did not. 6 months after he pucked up and he didnt want to pay all of bill that we agreed on. He did not have the money so i took a 69 swinger 340 for trade that has rust on frame rail and quarters. Non numbers 73 340 4 speed all in pieces. Then was going to get 1000 and a boat to help him since he did not have cash. Anyway he post oica of himself fishing in the boat. All i said was looks like you got your boat going. He then blo ked me.

So from what I am reading, you agreed to the Dart for the remainder of the payment? Help us out here. You gotta connect the dots. They look connected to you because you know all the details. Were you supposed to get the Dart, 1000 bucks and the boat too? Paint a better picture.
 
Ok agreement was since he did not have money finish paying his bill i would take the dart in for credit towards bill and also 1000 cash and boat to finish paying bill.

I agreed to $4500 which was ridiculous in my opinionion but was trying to help him out. It is a 69 swinger 340 bench seat 4 speed. Brought to me as it sits. Has a 73 340 needs total restoration.

Was agreed to be by the billable hour from the start. He was kept informed theough entire process with pictures every day it was worked on.
