Stop in for a cup of coffee

Hey Rami, adding kids to insurance just about put me in the poor house. My rates almost tripled when I added my boy and his car to my insurance. The Teen safety course and good student helped but OUCH!

Anybody know what coffee shop she hangs out in?

Thanks for that info. I'll be making a phone call this morning. We have State Farm, but of course since our house claim for storm damage our rates have been going up... Even though they said they would not... We were looking at dumping them and finding new insurance and this may be what it takes.

:lol: That person may be fed a cow patty that resembles a burger. LOL
Word to the wise... DO NOT put in your real phone number when shopping for quotes. You will go into a national insurance database and start getting calls about switching on your renewal date.

It reduces the nitrogen oxides produced in the lean burn diesel exhaust by being selectively injected into the cats. Without it, the cats alone couldn’t handle the NOx load.

I always figgered it was there to mask something without really changing anything.

Its primary function is to reduce exhaust gas temps to safe levels. Data on whether it reduces emissions is inconclusive. Chevy actually ran into where the exhaust pipes were glowing red during regen on their early models and some trucks had fires. This was all during testing luckily and they solved those issues prior to releasing to the public

Took a few tries to get on here this morning. Thought it was still down. OK on laptop now, but phone only works sometimes. And only on wifi, doesn't find FABO if on ATT signal since at least yesterday morning. :wtf:
@Joeychgo

ouch, southern MO got their butts kicked by tornadoes last night.

Well off to grab a bell housing. I need to clean and box it for a trade. Hey, I didn't know Cheryl Crow plays bass.

My father was a ready mix plant operator. Along with that he owned 2 ready mix trucks that were rented out. Moving 1 of them from the completed job in Glendale to the just beginning job in San Diego I had the duty of following him in the pickup. 10 yd Freightliner half cab powered by a screaming V6-53 Detroit. Going through the hill country along about sunset I notice something a little odd. Sparks leaving the exhaust stack on a regular basis. Great, just what we need, little flying burning carbon particles in the brushy back country. I managed to get his attention and got him to take his foot out of it, sparks ceased. :realcrazy:

The old screaming 2 cycle Detroit. Love the sound of those. Not too powerfull though.

Great fuel economy though. Haul 20 loads of mud in a 10 hour day and use 30 gallons of fuel. Keep in mind every load the Detroit is at full tilt for probably 10 minutes during loading and making water adjustments to the mud.

yep Thats what I love about the old 12V 6B Cummins. 165 hp, 350 ft lbs, not fast. But unloaded with a 5 speed and 3.55s, can get nearly 30 mpg if you stay around 50-55

I was talking to one of the drivers that hauled rock and sand into the ready mix plant 1 day about his running mate's round fendered Bull Dog Mack, pretty truck for a dirt truck. "That's the fastest truck in the LA Basin. 700" gas motor. Loaded or empty it will pass anything but a gas station."

Called the insurance company,

She is good to go, but I did need to let them know eventually. Insurance only went up $30/mo. She got good student discount and also has to do some sort of app on her phone for 5 hours of driving and submit it. Insurance company said that is really cheap insurance but it does help she is 18 and not 16.

Take it up to where it sounds like it will blow apart then Shift! I wore earplugs inside the cab when I got stuck in our Detroit!

Quiet afternoon...
So got first leaf spring out of car.
3 leaf pack. New one is 6.
Torsion bar is .86 inches.
Cant get any smaller.
Waiting for rust convertor to dry up, then i can install new spring.
Replacement rear shackles and
Bushings are identical to originals, except they are new.
A hole saw to get old rubber out works slick. Going to pull the bit and try it with shackle in.
