Gen III Hemi Prices

-
They are usually more than that around here as well, however, there is a Upullit yard close to me that only charges $225 for any complete engine and $100 for the trans. One of these days I'll get the ambition to go pull a Hemi out of something there. They usually get one or two cars a month with a hemi in them, just have to act fast.

I just bought a 2012 5.7 with a 6 speed automatic out of a Ram 1500 2WD with all of the wiring, computer, complete with alt, AC compressor and power steering pump, for $3500. Last year the same yard wanted $4000 for the same set up in Portland Oregon. Has 84000 miles on it. It would seem that the price is coming down.

Pickups in general are through the roof. I've been looking to get another pickup for a DD and get rid of the mini whale (Dakota) and the "much hated blue olds" (95 Olds Cutlass Sierra). Thing is I don't need a car and occasionally need a pickup but the "tow rig" seems to always have the small camper mounted. So, two pickups.........................Confused? I know I am.............

Picked up a 2013 Ram 5.7 tonight. Bad cam. Intake to pan, minus accessories. 190,000 miles, clean though. Paltry sum of 150 bucks.

deals are out there you just need to find them. I have purchased a few motors from a junk yard with bad heads brought them home, repaired them and sold. I just picked up a low mileage 06 for 750 delivered to my house. going to be reviewing its internals tonight, this one could be going on the market as soon as this weekend if all checks out.
you just have to search everyday

Had a friend that got into a wreck with his ‘69 Charger and totaled it. Scans found life threatening bone cancer in his arm, was going to have to go through a bone replacement surgery, and the guy has 5 little girls running around too. He had a 6.1 pulled from a charger or challenger and it only had 17,000 miles on the odometer so practically a new engine. I paid $4K for it, harness, and, ECM. So not deal of the year or anything, but knowing where it came from and being able to trust what I was getting was worth something to me. Plus maybe it helped my friend out too.

Last two I bought were pretty cheap....

Got one for u all ,I bought a 426 hemi drivetrain complete for $750 once upon a time . Was in a rolled hemi roadrunner with 30,000 something miles on it . I was in a Chrysler only junkyard looking for window crank handles for my 69 coronet rt>walked by the roadrunner ,HEMI hood glaring at me , I was hooked !!
Who says they weren`t good ole days !
Well a few of them were .

Boy, did I stumble into one last night. Called right away and setup the pick up this morning. Drove 3 hours to get it. It does have the powdered connecting rod issue, but, block and crank are good. No intake. SRT 6.1 Hemi complete long block with valve cover and coils. 500 bucks.
