So, I left the car in the trailer overnight, and opened the door the next morning to watch a mouse scurry, and find a ripped up shop rag....anyone have any tricks or repellents to keep these buggers out? Obviously can set traps, but not super practical with racing every week.

Thanks in advance!!!

We keep plenty of cat's around here, they have done a great job keeping them away, less mice in the house too!

I've read and heard of the dryer sheet thing. Then also seen just as many people saying it doesn't work. We have ten cats, so mice ain't got a chance. Look around the trailer real good for small cracks they can get in and do your best to stop them up. They're gettin in somewhere. Get a cat or five?

If you can run an extension chord to the trailer, I've had great luck with those sonic electric pest repeller things. Had rats under a house, mice in a garage etc and they worked like a charm every time. Sounds like snake oil, but it really works!

Bounce fabric softener strips will drive them out. We even use them around the outside flowers to keep the rodents, rabbits whatever from chewing on them.

Peppermint oil on cotton balls. Once they are gone fill up any holes they can get in will steel wool and great stuff so they can't get back in.

Not tryin to sound like a greenie cause lord knows I ain't even close, BUT that might be bad news for any pets he might have or any neighbors pets.
Also they die in your car and you cant find it.. that's a smell you will never get out. Lol

They have traps that prevent other animals from gaining access to the poison, once they eat the bait they leave searching for water.

Haha lol I'm just speaking from experience. I ruined a Chevrolet lumina once.

Agree the paint peeled off I'm one sheet and the rockers rusted out at 60k miles.

Great feedback guys, thanks!

Cats are kinda outta the question for now as i have two dogs that go nuts at the site of other animals.

The decon thing crossed my mind too, that I dont want them dying up in the headliner or under the carpet.

The peppermint oil and dryer sheets may be worth trying, thanks.

The sonic electric thing I always wondered if they were BS or not.

Thanks again all!!!

When I winterize the camper every fall, I put a dryer sheet and a couple of moth balls in each compartment with outside access. Also put dryer sheets inside each inside compartment. In 13 years, we've had no issues.

I recommend fresh cab.
I have used it for years, and a few of my storage customers use it as well.

I guess thats a pretty proven tactic! I'll throw some out there on top of whatever else I try!

I agree with ragtop and junkie, we use those methods in our camper. It works!

I've read where you lay a hose around the perimeter of the car/trailer to keep them out. Supposedly they just follow the perimeter of the hose w/o climing over it? Haven't tried it just read about it. Don't shoot the messenger! Haha.
