Ford Exploder 8.8 rear axle....

Many people do the Ford 8.8 swap. Search for posts w/ photos. Not just Mopar, I was talking w/ some guys at work into rodding and one did that on a 60's Chevy. The advantage is that you grab a 2nd short axle so you won't have to fool with having a shop shorten the axle. You cut the longer tube to match the short one and it is perfect for an A-body and cutting and welding the tube might be possible at home. Problem is it might only fit a 1967+ A-body which I think is ~1" wider, but research. So common that you might find most of the short axles missing in the junkyards.
