Summit Super Series points race. Double points race got rained out last Saturday. On Thursday they announce it will be this Sunday, Memorial Day weekend! People who work in retail generally cannot get a whole weekend off so if you've taken off Saturday to go racing you have to work Sunday, especially on a holiday weekend.
I think that if you reschedule a race you should give more advance notice and you should have it on the same day of the week as the original. Several people will now miss this race. Same track did this last year too.

I’m not sure where you live but our tracks locally in Pa and Ohio are really up against it with all the rain outs. They just canceled our heads up race at Keystone for the third time in a row. Some guys hate Facebook but I find out race schedules and rescheduled races on there way before I hear it anywhere else. I feel for our track management at Keystone because the work never stops as far as grass cutting and trimming and the bills come whether you race or not.

Yep, I remember one year we got rained out every weekend here in Ohio. We ended up racing on Wednesday nights. That sucked getting home at 3 or 4 in the AM then having to be at work by 7. Work on the car and do it again. I wouldn't even have thought about it but I was running good that year and was in the points race. Ended up 7th that year. To old to do that again.

What really would have sucked is if you had to work Wednesday night and couldn't get off and had to miss the race.

Rain outs are the promoters biggest headache. You will NEVER make everybody happy when you have to reschedule.

Most dirt tracks around here simply do not reschedule any special events.... move on... there's always next year.

Our racing season opened mid-April... Saturday night was the third night we raced without a rainout.

For some folks, having the race be gone is the better option. If they reschedule to a day when you can't make it and everyone else can, you fall behind in points.

Reminds me of the guy who used to screw/promote the dragstrip n Tulsa, he had a few that he ran in the rain /, no rain outs. Ever try to ease a hemi w/ 16" slicks off the line ?! Utterly stupid, altho I went 3 rounds before getting on it a little too hard-----most people just took the loss.

Memorial Day wknd and Labor Day wknd were the biggest race weekends of the year at my old home track. TNT Friday late into the night. Race sat/sun/mon.

What's the rant? Try running the track or sponsoring a event to get the idea of how it works. It's impossible to make everybody happy.

My local roundy-round track is underwater. Again. Second time this year, after they just spent a ton getting it dug out the first time. Lakeside Speedway, my ***...They are Lakemiddle Speedway now.

VIDEO: Flooding continues to plague Lakeside Speedway

They need to start racing jet sprint boats there.

Visit your local tracks, people. Buy the food, buy the beer, don't ***** about the price. You never know when you might lose it.
