So the guys as blueprint came through AGAIN!

the crate engine they sent me had a bad EFI unit. This car is behind schedule and needed to be gone. They next day aired me a new one direct from Holley beacuse they shipping guys were already gone for the weekend.
This was yesterday. Right now the new one is on the car, running and the job is done.

Honestly I just cant say enough good things about them, their service and pricing.
That is one top notch company.

@Johnny Mac

Thank you brother!

Your guys went above and beyond on this one!

You have one very satisfied customer here.

PS another customer was in my shop when I came back from the first drive. I couldn't stop saying how happy I was after dealing with you, how you helped me out on your day off, and well I think I just sold another one of your engines.

You guys gotta start screwing up more cuz my machinist neighbor and friend is not happy about me selling your engines vs him building them for my customers. You gonna get me in trouble!

:rofl::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

That's badass man. They started out on rocky ground but they have really come a long way to show they are serious about being a contender in the crate motor business.

One touch of the key and that thing was puring like a kitten, timing was spot on right out of the box.

Only time will tell how it lasts but it's not a race car so I think it will out last the customer. Hell I bet it gets 20 MPG.

Also I'm not gonna lie, I did a leak down right out of the box. Ya know, just to see if they realy did run it in....

10 percent leak down across the board dry.

cool, which motor?

NM, i thought they had a couple listed with the FI. just showing one right now...or was this an off brand

Wellllll.....

I don't just work on MOPARS.....

So.... ..

It's a chevy 383 stroker.
Aluminum heads, hydro roller
EFI

I'll tell you what. First gear from a roll and its sideways in a hurry.

I told the customer, i think you can break **** with this engine. Be careful or call your trans guy right now....

I'm not a fan of blue print engines only because of a problem my friend had with then, a SBC they bought had coolant running out the exhaust and they pulled the motor and sent it back, It took them a month to test and said there was nothing wrong, another 3 weeks to get it back and the same thing antifreeze running out the exhaust, these are all old guys that were involved in this project and I wont say there names but big names in drag racing, Blue print engines treated them like they were assholes.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

@brian6pac I'm sorry to hear that opinion. My initial reaction is to have anyone contact me directly with issues and I'm glad to help. Hopefully this was 15 years ago, and a friend of a friend type story. If not, then it shows that no company is perfect, and everyone can improve. That's our goal, and I assure anyone out there to buy with confidence.

The awesome thing for me is that I didnt even know about the efi unit! This all happened through the "normal" channels of service. That's AWESOME to me. I am happy to know calling into service and getting treated as any customer should is a priority!

I built a few SBC 383 strokers over the years... That engine will cook! One hell of a little power plant :)

I built one, eventually went w/ a 406 sbc, it was very impressive, easy to build and work on too.
Anyone can build a chevy and make it run ! And cheaper too---
"IF" , I was going build another hotrod, I think it would be a big sbc . , 434 454 etc./ 600 to 700 h.p.------

It was about 4 years ago my friend and a couple buddy's bought a Chevy blueprint engine from summit and installed it then fired it up and coolant was coming out the tail pipe and radiator. Pulled the motor back out and took it back to summit where it sat for a while, he kept calling about it and they said to come and get it they put it back in and the same thing so they pressure tested it and one cyl wouldn't even hold 40lbs, my friend bought it on his A-Tech account so it is a first hand account. Summit wouldn't refund the money because they said there was nothing wrong, then the guy that owned the car posted a video on youtube of the coolant coming out everywhere and badmouthing Summit then summit stepped up and paid the bill for the engine. That's when my friend closed his A-tech account and hasn't bought anything from Summit Racing sense. I don't know who was all involved with this if anyone maybe some joker at summit who knows, maybe blueprint never seen the engine but the people that are selling your products should be taking care of your customers. All these guys are from N.E. Ohio.

Thanks for responding, and sorry to hear about the experience. I'm from NE Ohio born and raised. Wonder if I have crossed paths with these gentlemen. I have drag raced across The NE and I have alot of buddies at this time representing our engines both on the street and track with great success.
I can speak first hand than we tell our resellers to always send customers back our way to let us resolve issues. Our warranty policy, and our training presentations (that I personally gave to about 400 reseller employees in OH myself only a few months back) repeats over and over, to refer customers back to us. We know that sometimes a reseller will just try to "make things right" without involving us, and things can sometimes go south when the mfg of the product isnt the one giving recommendations and rectifications. It sounds to me (from my hopeful perspective) that we were in the dark on this one, and could/would have done a much better job getting these guys squared up in a more timely manner, and feeling alot better about our product and service. We arent perfect, we dont pretend to be, but we do take care of our customers when given the chance.
