If it is a car carb, yea, possibly no good.
If it is a truck carb, it’s OK. No real big emissions to contend with.
It is possible to use a AFB AVS step up spring. It ain’t pretty. You can also delete the spring all together and let the TQ’s residential base plate cam lift the tree for enrichment. Not a great thing, but it works. The TQ is do-able but IMO it only goes so far. Which can be pretty good.
