Mopar Southern Nationals 2019: MAY 24-25 - GR8 RACING, SHOW & SWAP - SGMP, GA.

Went to the show this weekend. Big disappointment. Hardly any vendors, race cars, spectators. On top of that for the first time they were charging $20.00 extra to drive thru the gate. Other wise you parked in field and walk thru the gate about 1/4-1/2 mile. it was hot as Hell! By the time I left at 5 pm my truck said 108 degrees. This is the last year I'm going to endure this heat. I have suggested for many years they move this show up a month or two. On the plus side, I did buy some good parts and I got to meet Myran (Locomotion), Bill ( Demonracer) and Partsmonsta.

Great to meet Demonracer, and see some old friends,Locomotion and SGBARRACUDA .Hot ,man hot,got some good deals, the parking deal sucked but so did the hotel charging me a 50.00 cancellation fee for checking out Sunday instead of Monday. If they move the show to a cooler weekend I'll be back

Yea, the swap meet was a bit disappointing & the heat was brutal. It was good to put faces to names from here, Mark & Roy were great people to finally meet up with. I talked to some of the people & there are talking about moving it to a cooler time of the year. Myron represented well, going to the final round of racing.

Anybody know of any event photos posted online?

Yes, it was brutally hot! Got semis and enjoyed meeting old & new friends. Looking forward to a better event with a different, weather friendly date and hopefully more sponsor support.

Dismal turnout, but I had lotsa fun. Bought some good stuf at the Mini Swap Meet :)thumbsup:).
Most I have ever paid to enter a Mopar Event. I dont mind contributing to the Event, but $35 was ridiculous. Almost as much as bringing a Car to race!
To all you Guys who didnt hang around. The Winners of Super Pro and Pro faced off for a final race. Cool Idea by SGMP.
Saw alot of nice Race Mopars, but I fear this may have been the last year ever.
Congrats to my long time racin' Buddy Marcus Crews on your Modern Mopar Win.

During the driver's meeting, the track manager did say that they will try to find a better race date and hopefully get Mopar and/or other sponsors involved.

Wow, that's promising. This Event really took off when Mopar Muscle got involved. They really did an excellent job of promoting this Event. The potential is definitely there.

Just to letcha know, the announcer called you Platek all day...

lol I need to quit writing in all caps and make the dot on the "i" very obvious. But they would get it wrong anyway. Many people recognize me by the car name, so that works for me.

Semi finalist. They had to combine Pro & Super Pro at the end for one purse. I was happy how I did considering I haven't raced the Dart for quite a while. Had my first ever perfect run - .000 RT & dead-on 7.180.
