Any Dog People Here ?

Sophie, our second Rottweiler, she's just getting out of the puppy stage at two and a half years old. She's a good, headstrong dog, great with the granddaughters and people in general. Here she is in the first bed we got her, that she didn't destroy immediately. She must have been raised on concrete before we got her, she hated anything but her plastic tray in the kennel. Now she mostly has free run of the house, as long as she doesn't chew on stuff.

We have had 2 German Shepherd's.....Wyle & Cyara.
Wyle (Tan) was a gentle giant at 130 LBS....the absolute low key temperament, until anyone would play hit the wife, even myself.....then he would attempt to tear your arm off......lol. Extremely protective of her.
Cyara (black) was the high energy, play ball anytime type dog....always ready to give it full out. Cyara was my little princess....lol....she loved going for a rip in the Duster and was my hot roddin' buddy!
Both are waiting at the rainbow bridge now. Dog's are the best.....no matter how shitty of a day you have had, they are always happy to see you when you get home.

This is Maggie Mae. I rescued her from the pound 6 years ago. She is around 9-10 years old, and the best dog i have ever had in my life. What a smart gentle Loyal breed. She ls a 140 lb Pure bred Great Pyrenees, it is going to kill me when she leaves me. Something different about a rescue dog, they know you have saved them and that does something to them. When i am out in the yard of the garage, she plants herself so she can guard me from anyone coming up the driveway.

So, are you a Rod Stewart fan then?

Never spent a cent on a purebreed. Too many animals in need of homes to even let that idea fill real estate in my head. Henry has come a long way since rescuing a year ago.....

I believe dogs have a soul, as do cats and even horses. Their brains work differently, their missions in life are different, but..

I feel bad for those people that have never known the soul of a good dog.

I also believe their is a rainbow bridge somewhere.

My last Great Dane. He was also a rescue... Been gone a year and a half now. I really miss him.

Truth can be stranger than fiction.

Yes i am. That song was playing on the radio the day i went to the pound to look for a pooch.

I was at the vet having the Chi's teeth cleaned.
Of course, I had to wait for her because they are very sensitive dogs and I didn't want to "leave" her.
He took her in and I was there when she came around.
While I was in the waiting area a lady came out from seeing the other vet and was at the counter taking care of business.
She was struggling to hold onto this young huge blue tick hound that was howling every 30 seconds.
(There are two vets)
I asked her if she wanted me to hold the dog out side while she finished.
So, I take the dog outside the glass and kneel down with my arms around it's neck to sort of hold it still.
It's still howling every 30 seconds.
She finished up, comes outside and thanks me.
Then goes into this long story about how she found "Dixie" over in Alabama.

I said "Wait a minute. You have a blue tick hound puppy that you named Dixie?"
I whipped out my cell and googled something for her since she was a younger MILF and would not know about it.

BUT, I had no idea about this since I never watched the show.
It was the FIRST thing that google gave me.

There's a fine line between "nice old geezer" and "creepy old man".
May I never cross it.
My kids said I crossed that line more than a few times. So now I just try to stick with my Cranky Old Guy mantra.

I've asked mine to monitor me for it.
Unfortunately, I'm unsupervised most of the time.

Lookie what I just found.

And mine just got into the garbage when I went to the store. Bad Dodgey

Poor Sparky, he is terrorized by thunder and fireworks and we are getting a bunch of storms tonight. He would climb into my pocket and hide if he could. Best I can do is show him that I am calm and reassure him that it’s all OK. He is stuck to me like glue tonight.
