****WARNING****
The first part of this thread is a rant and explanation of my starting this challenge. Please scroll down if it doesn't matter to you the purpose of the the challenge or don't want to read my ramblings! No offense will be taken.
**************
So as some of you know I am fairly new to the Mopar community. I have been wrenching the majority of my life and have always considered myself a car guy. My Duster is my first Mopar and my first "hot rod" It is no show car! But it does turn heads and gets its fair share of thumbs up. It also gets its fair share of smirks and turned up noses. Anyway, I've been to a few car shows the last few years, local and not so local. But I haven't taken or entered the Duster for the very reason that its not "show quality". I am always bummed when the turn out for the Mopar community is so low. The only time I have seen more than a handful of old Mopars is at an all Mopar show. In fact the majority of Mopars at our big local shows are late model Challengers, Chargers, Magnums, Hellcats and whatnot. Now don't misunderstand me, I dig the new technology but its just not the same. I took the Duster to a local cruise in a few weeks ago and had quite a few young folks compliment the car and that got me thinking (scary). This is what its all about, getting the younger generation interested. These younger folks are the future of this hobby. Having beat up old jalopies such as the Duster make it relatable to the younger crowd that it doesn't have to cost a fortune, it doesn't have to be perfect, its fun and doable. I believe there are a lot of old drivable Mopars out there that aren't perfect but cool! People need to see that they're here, they're alive and they're just as dang cool as that "pro-street" Camaro! So I say get them out there! Show them off!
So..................
**The Challenge**

Take those Pre-1980 Mopars wether its a show car, street rod, daily driver, jalopy, 2 door, 4 door, wagon, whatever and

1) Enter them in the local car shows/cruise ins

2) Take a picture of you holding the entry tag next to your car

3) Post the picture on this thread

4) Be a proud Mopar owner and represent!

And remember, if you can get just one young person interested in this hobby it's worth the price of admission!!

Brevard County Florida Public School high school automotive programs car show last month. Check out the V8 trophy for my slant. Parents / grandparents were telling the kids how cool it was to see a slant 6.

This is from a HUGE show full of young kids and there were only about a dozen Mopars. Lots of imports, Japanese and European.

2 days ago at our yearly 4th. Street Cruise. We had a pretty decent Mopar showing this year.

I am the token E body! But I have seen the light and am building an old Demon! And yes it is the Sublime One. I throw the steering wheel on the dash and let any kid that wants to sit in it for a photo op. Toggle switch dash, roll bar, racing harness. No way they can hurt it! Shows folks the other side of our hobby! I have never won so much as a people's choice. But lots of folks like to see race cars at the shows.

I certainly didn't build mine to be a show car, but enjoy doing just that. First pic is from a couple years ago -before paint. And another show from a couple weeks ago.

I still feel for me that the Sportsman Pits at any Drag Race is the best car show there is
