Any numbers at the drags?
I thought the same thing, that's for sure 7:9:1 compression ratio with the pistons that much in the hole. 325HP gonna need 10:1 or higher. I know a guy claiming his slant is over 300hp running that .440 lift compcams grind. I don't believe it for a second.325HP with the pistons that far in the hole at TDC? What all has been done to the head?
325 horsepower is no.
225 horsepower is also probably no.
Pretty yellow engine is yes, though!
Its was 8:9:1 from the factory with dished pistons. Those pistons are 40 over flat tops. Plus how many engines have you built?
It is 10 to 1 compression. The guy that built the engine is Randy McDowell at Power Tech Racing engines in Ashland Ky. He has built engines for track and drag strip for over 30 years. He can build engines and make them within 2 to 3 horsepower just form the formulas he uses to build them. Its was 8:9:1 from the factory with dished pistons. Those pistons are 40 over flat tops. Here is a pic of the 225 from my 63 Dart. 64000 miles & everything looked great inside so just getting a refresh & reseal. Should have the Dart back from paint by the end of the month so I can get it back together hit the car cruises & shows here in NE Ohio. WOOHOO!!!

About two going on to my third, and I don't have people build my motors for me I do it myself and if it fucks up oh well At least I know and I learned from it. Factory compression lol was 7:9-8:1 at best. Stock slant six were were 90-100 horsepower at the wheel. No way your even at 200hp. Probably can't even chirp the tires lol. Who ever is telling you you got 325hp is blowing smoke up ur a$$.It is 10 to 1 compression. The guy that built the engine is Randy McDowell at Power Tech Racing engines in Ashland Ky. Yep, sorry, I lost track of the original poster.
Roadrage came along and hi-jacked this topic and got it off track. And I'm sure that has scared off petty437 as well.
See what I said to Rusty!Yep, sorry, I lost track of the original poster.
Again, I think this topic has scared him off. That to bad as I was interested in this as well!@petty437 please continue with your build progress. We're all wanting to see it. Thank you.
Well I know Dan from SL6 forums. He is a know it all. Always finds a way to be a buzz kill and run down anything you post. if he doesn't approve, it cant be done. Im not a new member just changed my SN. Dan is the reason I left that forum. Got enough negative to deal with I dont want it here.
Will do! Hopefully soon. Should be getting the car from the paint booth next week!@petty437 please continue with your build progress. We're all wanting to see it. Thank you.
Just got it back from the body shop!I suspected that. Fluorescent lights do all kinds of funky things to color. Especially in pictures. Where's the pics of the car, dangit? lol
