Painless disconnect

I would use the latching relay before I used the the one the OP listed. The first one (30204) requires power to be flowing through the switch at all times, while the latching one (30206) just requires a pulse to turn the power on or off. Just my opinion, though.

I found a solenoid for an RV that uses a momentary pulse to turn the power on, and a momentary pulse with reversed polarity to turn the power off again.

My theory was, I could use a car alarm (Viper, etc.) to turn the switch both on and off using the power door circuit using a fob while arming the alarm at the same time.

Hotronics has a kit (MBD-150 Battery Disconnect Switch, Battery Sw. | Hotronics Products) that used the same solenoid (I think), but I bought it at an RV supply place for significantly cheaper. I bought an Intellitec 01-00055-000.

Based on the 11+ years it took me to get my 17" wheels and 13" homebrewed brake kit installed, I should have it installed in the next 4 or 5 years. :BangHead:
