You can find a 360 for close to what a 318 will run you and it cost the same to rebuild. Go for the displacement. Im a 340 guy but if your on a budget the block price willl cost much more than a 360.

I have a 340 short block core for sale with a date code of what looks to be 9-30-71.

Ken

Your in box is full. A friend of mine works in Syracuse, NY. I can get the short block to him if you wanted to pick it up from him.

What part of Canada? Are you close enough to the border to come across? If so what major city are you nearest?

Have you checked out the Magnum Swap section of the forum? It may give you some ideas.

Tech Info and Tips for motor mounts.

There's a LOT of stuff about doing a Magnum swap, they should be relatively common at a pick-and-pull.

A like on "Keep Erasing History." Indeed, when speaking with some of the youth, they never heard of the Holocaust. Maybe not the place to voice an opinion. sgrip65

Swap a magnum engine in it. Your 318 accessories, exhaust manifolds, ignition system, etc all swaps over. You will need a different intake but the knock-offs are pretty reasonable. Also will need a 360 oil pan for 318 and 360 magnums. Those are pretty cheap from summit

So if you live in the country’s largest city (10% of the country’s population) and have limited funds for the engine, why are you not looking locally?? A small block Chrysler V8 should be easily attainable in the GTA. That would save a bunch on shipping costs (as your budget is tight). Peeps are coming up with a bunch solutions and they are all too rich due to shipping costs. I don’t see the point in your post unless you’re hoping for a GTA member on FABO to come up with a solution for you?? If that’s the case, why not post it in the Canadian section since other options are not within the budget?

If you want to come to Cheshire, CT I have all kinds of engines 318, 340, 360, 383, and 440s

I also have an 84 318, stock bore, complete less intake and carb. Needs hone and bearings. On a stand.
And a spare set of 302 heads.
