Lost money on a transaction

I'm pretty sure you can't get a tracking # until you actually ship something. I won't ship a part till it's paid for. If the condition of the part is questionable I send the buyer more detailed pics and or description before he pays. I try to be as honest as possible . One member was wanting a rusted fender I had listed for $50, He was up in NY ( IIRC) Was over $200 bucks to ship it. after a week or so I think I convinced him he could probably find one local cheaper and in better shape. I sell stuff I don't need to fund my projects and help others keep theirs moving along. Not to scam people. I give some stuff away free, Once you scrap these parts they are gone forever.
Yea I had a similar experience not long ago. I have a new dodge ram grille for sale for 50 bucks a guy wanted it but it was gonna cost me 87 bucks to ship it to him which is just ridiculous imo. It is only a 5lb package but its very large but it was going all the way to the west coast. Ups FedEx and USPS was all over 80 bucks just because of the size it. I think it should go off weight not size. How can you ship a 70 lbs flat rate box for 12 bucks to California but a 5lb box cost 87 bucks what's the damn difference??
