I just got done redoing my 69 barracuda and got it on the road but the front 9" drum brakes are not as great as I'd hope they would be. I had a 1976 Dodge Daytona Charger that I sent to scrap a few years back, but I keep the front disc brake assembly off of the car. Will the spindles work for a disc brake conversion?

The other parts I would needed?
Upper control arms with big ball joint
Lower large ball joint
Master cylinder for front disc
Brake hoses

Yes, the spindles and brakes will work. Keep in mind you will also be changing the bolt pattern to 5x4.5".

You'll either need a set of ball joint taper adaptors (Mopar A-Body Upper Ball Joint Tapered Adapter) or a set of large ball joint A-body UCA's.

The lower ball joint has a different bolt spacing, so you'll need that. The master cylinder should be swapped, I'd recommend a 15/16" master cylinder Mopar Aluminum Master Cylinder Kit

All the hoses should be replaced regardless. I would also consider new wheel bearings, brake pads and rotors. Depending on the condition of the stuff you have of course, but if it's been laying around I would change all that stuff.

Thanks. I already changed the car over to 4.5" bolt pattern so that change is no big deal. I'll have to gather up some UCA's though.

As long as you ignore every single thing he said about using FMJ spindles, because every single thing he said about using FMJ spindles is BS. This is relevant because the OP's '76 Daytona Charger is a B-body and uses the taller spindles.

If you're concerned about geometry after reading Ehrenberg's unsubstantiated claims, take a look at the actual geometry changes that occur.

I actually prefer the FMJ spindles. And that's what I run on my Duster.
