I'm getting ready to connect the Eddy 1406 carb to the 318 in the 65 barracuda.

I'm going to run the stock style accel. cable. The engine and trans are 1984. Trans uses a floor shifter and will retain the 84 kickdown.

How would you connect this? Pictures help. thanks

You are missing parts. There is a Chrysler carb adapter kit available from Edelbrock made for exactly your problem.
Part # 8007 About $15.00 It includes carb and trans studs for the carb and trans linkages to attach.
Sorry my posting looks late, took 15 minutes to try to find a good picture of the proper parts and linkage picture. Couldn't download it.
I reread your post and you said that you are going to use the stock cablel and linkage. If the linkage and cable are for the 2 bbl carb, they will not be correct for a 4 bbl. The carb sits farther forward and the kick down will be too short. What else are you using in this upgrade ?

I can lengthen the stock kickdown rod as needed....also modify the cable pull length.....

So the 1481 looks to fit the bill.

Also: looks like I"m missing the metal link bar from the secondary arm....going up to the "_______" (damper???)
anyone have one or know the part number?

I have the throttle pin and ordered the 1481 adapter part.

I also just ordered the #1473 mopar linkage kit, which should give me the missing rods / clips and such.

For Hook up: Im using the mopar electronic ignition, would the advance use the ported vacuum connection?

thanks

I will be doing the exact same thing. Except it was a 4BBL car.
Watching closely. Almost identical setup and same car.

any advantage to NOT running the timed vacuum advance on the MP distributor?????? I've seen many who don't....I don't see why......

Can you post a picture of WHERE the missing linkage goes? I MIGHT have a few Carter pieces left. If I do, I'll send you one.

I hate to see someone try to reinvent the wheel when it comes some of these linkages, as it almost never works out quite right.
I'd say do it complete with the adapter brackets and correct TP linkage rods for the 4 barrel application or go to a cable TP without any of the stock linkage except for the throttle cable.

Just an opinion of course.:D
