Lost money on a transaction

Yea I had a similar experience not long ago. I have a new dodge ram grille for sale for 50 bucks a guy wanted it but it was gonna cost me 87 bucks to ship it to him which is just ridiculous imo. It is only a 5lb package but its very large but it was going all the way to the west coast. Ups FedEx and USPS was all over 80 bucks just because of the size it. I think it should go off weight not size. How can you ship a 70 lbs flat rate box for 12 bucks to California but a 5lb box cost 87 bucks what's the damn difference??
The size of the package, real estate in a freight truck is valuable, the weight don't mean crap when shipping small packages.
And if you were shipping a plastic grill, you better make a wooden crate, or it will end up broke.
Here is an example of a light weight, but sturdy box I built to ship a rebuilt trans to CA.
Truck freight was almost $200 but the buyer was happy.
When it shipped, the buyer got a tracking number, and I checked it every day, it arrived fine.
