What's the slowest car you've raced in the 1/4 ?

Back in 1979@SPR, my stock '71 340 pistol grip stick car., old set of cheetah slicks and only revved it to 5000...14.5's@94

My 63 stone stock 170 CID Valiant. 20.99 !!!! 68 MPH.
Got you beat. In 1974, my first slant six car. 65 Valiant model 200 4 door sdn. Bone stock with a 170, 904, 7 1/4. 22.8 sec in the 1/4
Other people at the track, that I knew, razzed me terrible. So decided to see what I could do with it. In 1975 was running low 17's as a legal NHRA stocker.
In 1976, was running under the record for Z/SA at about 16.6's. With a best of 16.17 at a bracket race under "mine shaft" conditions.
Ultimate best was 1981 with a 13.4 at 104 but that was no longer stock (turbo, street driver). Not the same motor or car, but a 66 Valiant with a 170, 12.84 at 102 mph on juice.

years ago in maitland dragstrip here in N.S. , during the gamblers evening race they put a automatic 4 door chevette up against Armstrongs 9 second opel…...the chevette went 22 seconds

never even thought about racing my 1984 Hundai Pony-4speed..... it took a quarter mile or more just to get up to 60mph. I finally put a 5-speed in it. It didn't make it any faster, but it made passing the time more bearable.....

My 10 sec Dart lol. Only car I’ve ever had on a track. So it’s not only the slowest, but also the fastest I’ve ever had hahaa.

2013 at the Clay City Slant Six race. Had just completed a full frame off restro on the 83 D150, did not have 25 miles on the truck when I left Indy for Clay City.
And, the 83 was never intended to be a drag racer, it was set up to be the tow vehicle for the '68 Barracuda. But the Barracuda was not done yet, so you run what you got.
As luck would have it I drew Team Green and their 10 second slant six Lancer in the first round. Rusty spotted me 10 seconds in the quarter. I was at the halfway point on the strip, before that Green Lancer left. And they got me,,, LOL
Blew by me at the line like I was setting still.

Slowest and fastest vehicle I've ran in the 1/4 mile(legit) was my 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd Gambler 500 vehicle.Truck has a 3.9 V6,automatic,2.71 gears, 285/75/16 tires, and a welded diff.Back then it had no hood, smashed front fenders,no doors, mesh windshield.I forget the exact times but I was racing against a Ford Courier with a utility box.I left in Drive with OD off. They had me off the line,I ran them down and beat them somehow.Lined up again and manually shifted the gears, courier had me for the first 60 feet or so then I was in front of them the rest of the way.It doesn't feel that slow driving it but when its actually against something else...I joked with the guy driving the courier that a crack head on a 10 speed bicycle could have easily taken both of us.

My 67 Barracuda with the 273 auto and a 3;23 gear. It ran a 16.64 at 85 mph during time trials and it spun the tire bad during eliminations and never raced it again.

What was done to the 273? 85 mph suggest the car mid 15's without the tire spin

85 mph represents a P/W of perhaps 19.4, and so at 3450 raceweight might be 178 hp. If your car was closer to 3650 then 190hp. IIRC the 273 2bbls were rated at 180hp, so it mightabin the slowest car you ever raced but it was no turd.

Yep, I saw that on the window after I posted it. The track (Thunder mountain in kelowna BC) is at elevation mind you so the times are slower.
Lol. Yep. Must have been the elevation?

The timed run was with little tire spin during time trials as I rolled it out. The pass during eliminations is when it spun and I just let off of it.
The engine was a stock 180 horse 2 barrel bottom end. The heads were angle milled to a closed chamber with stock valves.
The cam was a Hughes hydraulic grind which I don't remember the specs. It had the 273 Commando valvetrain and the cast iron 4 barrel intake. An Edelbrock 500 cfm carb up top.
Stock exhaust manifolds and a 2 1/4 inch dual exhaust.
The 7 1/4 inch pegleg axle was starting to make noise so that's when I changed out the entire drivetrain.

ok, hughes cam and 4bbl. makes sense.

13.6 at BIR in a 92 Stealth RT-Twin Turbo. I blew the intercooler piping coupler off the throttle body when I shifted into second so it had no power for the rest of the 1/4 mile. At that time I was using worm gear clamps instead of T-bolts so we slapped a second worm gear clamp on it and it still blew the coupler off. Never was able to get a decent run in that time.
