stinking craigslist

i wouldnt mind paying 5 bucks IF it was to the right audience
but have you met 90% of the people who buy, sorry, waste your time, on craigslist?
THAT is the issue, not the 5 bucks, but who it brings to my door
I advertise car parts on the local Sacramento Craigslist, and i try and find buyers on that format, to sell things, so yes, i have, met, delt with, all kinds of people from Craigslist ads.
So in my case i would rate my dealings 75% in my favor, the other 25% should have stayed away.
I now have changed the way that i want to do business with perspective "buyers" that say they want the part, can't live without the part, need the part.
To weed out all the "shoppers" i request a small deposit, on whatever they're interested in, paid into my Pay Pal account, and when you come over to my residence, to pick it up, you pay me the CASH balance.
I'm no longer going to hold onto anything, anymore, unless i get a deposit, to weed out all those shoppers.
Then when we both agree on a date and time for pick up, i tell them that your going to phone me that your on the way, then, at that time, i tell them how to get here, wither it's by GPS, verbal instruction, or heaven forbid, a local map. And I'm very easy to find, street wise, right off the highway exit ramp.
And I'm not going to wait around for anyone, if you don't show up, give or take a bit, around the agreed upon time.
All that now seems to be working out in my favor, but i guess you again never know with Craigslist.
My .02 cents worth on the subject.
